What is Aging ?

In the process of processing, storage and usage, because of the combined effect of internal and external factors, the performance of the material is gradually deteriorated, and finally lost its use value.

Aging is an irreversible change.

Through the study of the aging process of the material, the appropriate anti-aging measures are adopted to improve the aging resistance of the material and to delay the aging rate in order to prolong the service life.

1. Light Aging

Climate and sunlight irradiation is the main damage to plastic, paint, printing ink and other polymer materials, this damage including light loss, fading, yellowing, cracking, peeling, embrittlement, and delamination strength decrease, even the indoor light and sun light transmission through a glass window will also make some materials aging such as fade or change color of pigment. .

The purpose of light Aging Test :

The accelerated weathering test was performed by simulate the long-term exposure to light to help obtain result of material weathering resistance performance.

Xenon Light Aging and UV Light Aging

What is Xenon Lamp ?

Xenon filled photocell or Flash lamp. The spectral energy distribution is similar to ultraviolet and visible light in sunlight.

What is a fluorescent UV lamp?

A fluorescent lamp which can emit at least 80% of the total output light energy below 400nm.

The difference between UV and xenon lamp test

UV test mainly consider the UV impact on products, its wavelength is 300~400nm; xenon lamp test not only consider the effect of ultraviolet light, also considering the influence of visible light, the wavelength range of 300~800nm.
